Morinda still producing after 20 years of business

Morinda USA is a multi-level marketing firm that sells a wide array of health and wellness products, among other things. The company was started in 1996 when it launched its flagship product, Tahitian Noni Juice. Many of Morinda’s products are developed through years of research and development, as the company aims to be innovators in the health supplement industry.

The company has a global presence and has managed to remain in business and profitable for 20 years. However, it’s possible that Morinda has already peaked, as there’s evidence to suggest that interest in the company is waning and the future may not be as bright as its past.

Morinda offers those who enjoy its products the chance to join the company as a distributor. After signing up, distributors have five ways to make money:

  • Retail Profits – Profit made from the difference between wholesale cost and retail cost, which starts at 20% but can increase over time with enough products sold.
  • Rebates – An additional rebate on products for reaching a certain level of sales in a given month.
  • Residual – Residual payments from sponsored distributors.
  • Fast Start Bonus – Bonus for signing up new users who use auto-shipping.

The Good

The biggest advantage of joining Morinda as an independent consultant is that the sign-up cost is affordable at $35. Equally important is the fact the company provides plenty of support to its distributors, which sets them up for success. Morinda has a slew of training materials that help to answer any question a distributor may have, in addition to setting up every new member with a sponsor who can help guide them. The company also has a website that can help distributors learn about analytics, social media management, new revenue opportunities, and other facets of the business. Morinda also holds a regional business summit every six months, giving you the opportunity to pick the brains of other distributors, as well as some of the company’s top executives. In terms of training and assistance, this is far more than what the average multi-level marketing firm offers.

When it comes to the company’s products, Morinda has a Scientific Advisory Board made up of doctors and researchers to ensure that the products the company sells are safe and effective (1). The company has invested hundreds of millions of dollars into research and development, so it’s safe to assume they’re not flooding the market with inferior products. The Bad

Despite Morinda’s emphasis on research and development, there is little scientific evidence that backs of the health benefits on the Noni plant, whose extracts are the basis of many of the company’s products. However, those skeptical of such medical practices may not be receptive to Morinda’s products.

The company was also involved in a controversial court case in 1998 when it was accused of making false claims about the health benefits of their flagship product, Tahitian Noni Juice. As a result, Morinda refunded the money of customers who brought the product and was forced to label its juice as an unapproved drug.

Finally, the cost of the company’s products may be a hindrance for a significant amount of potential customers. The research and development that goes into producing higher quality products plays a role in the higher costs, but having a reason for it doesn’t make them any more affordable. High costs for the products can make it more difficult for distributors to make sales, while the monthly quota of $120 in product sales can also put additional pressure on them.


If you’re on board with Morinda’s products, it’s definitely worth considering signing on as a distributor. The company backs up its products with a great deal of research and has built a strong reputation during its 20-year history, receiving great feedback and few complaints from customers. Morinda also does a great job of supporting its distributors with training and guidance to help them get off their feet, so prior experience with MLM is not a necessity for those looking to give it a try.

However, aside from a low sign-up cost, a partnership with Morinda can become quite expensive considering the prices of some of its products. The opportunity is geared more towards those who are already in a good position financially and want to take a chance on achieving something even better.
