Is Javita worth the hype?

Javita USA is a rather young direct marketing business that sells coffee and similar drinks. The company was founded in 2011 by Stan Cherelstein and has its headquarters in Boca Raton, Florida. The name of the company comes from combining Java, which is a slang term for coffee, with Vita, the Latin word for life. The company strives to be part of both the coffee industry and the weight loss industry, hoping to help people live healthier lives “one cup at a time.”

It’s difficult to forecast the future of such a young company, but if nothing else Javita has a fighting chance of succeeding. The company has experienced people at the top, a clear set of values and goals, and a product that comes with a massive market. All of that does not guarantee success, but it will give Javita a shot to grow into a viable company in the long run.

Javita’s main line of products is a series of instant coffees fused with a variety of organic ingredients. The company’s primary products are:

  • Energy & Mind – Coffee combined with Bacopa Monnieri, Gotu Kola, and Green Tea to enhance energy and increase mental alertness.

  • Herbal Cleanse Tea – Designed to enhance digestive system and promote weight loss.

The Good

One of the biggest advantages that Javita has is that its products have the chance to serve a massive market. Coffee drinkers make up a huge part of the population, and most people will be open to at least trying out a new brand of coffee, especially one like Javita that combines its coffee with organic ingredients that claim to offer various health benefits. This can help Javita’s distributors get a foot in the door, giving them a chance to sell the company’s products to a large customer base. If nothing else, most distributors should be able to convince most of the people they know to give Javita products a taste test, which can be the first step towards a successful venture with the company.

One thing that helps to separate Javita from most other multi-level marketing firms is the number of creative incentive programs the company offers beyond monetary bonuses. Obviously, the Javita compensation plan allows for people to earn bonuses, but there are several other ways the company incentivizes its distributors. For instance, one program is called 3 & Free. By referring three preferred customers who purchase a qualifying kit, a distributor can get their product order for the following month free, essentially drinking free coffee for a full month. Not surprisingly, a distributor will have to advance high in the company to be rewarded with either the opportunity to buy or lease a luxury car or receive a bonus put towards college tuition or loans. However, they are unique incentive programs that Javita uses to keep its distributors striving for the highest of goals. This shows that the company is actively trying to come up with ways to get the best of its members, while also helping them to achieve something meaningful.

The Bad

Of course, while Javita’s products may seem enticing on the surface, it’s important to know that they are not backed by a great deal of science or regulatory agencies. The company points out on its websites that the Food and Drug Administration has not confirmed many of the health benefits supposedly offered by the company’s drinks. Javita is also not accredited by the Better Business Bureau, which doesn’t necessarily make it a bad company, but should produce at least some skepticism about the validity of the company’s products.

It may also be important to keep in mind that while the market for coffee drinkers is quite large, the market is also quite saturated. There are many high-profile coffee brands that have loyal customers. Javita isn’t even the only coffee seller in the multi-level marketing industry, so Javita distributors should expect plenty of competition when trying to sell the company’s products.

The company has also received a fair amount of criticism about the lack of training given to distributors. Javita’s primary advice to its members is to get friends and family members on board with the company’s products and then go from there. This is sound advice, but it should also be obvious, and without more advanced training, there is a limit to what most distributors will be able to accomplish with Javita.


Javita is certainly an intriguing opportunity for any coffee lover who’s interested in joining a multi-level marketing firm. If you know a lot of coffee drinkers who would also be receptive to switching to Javita, there’s certainly the potential to make some money, and the company has plenty of intriguing incentive programs for someone who is serious about making direct selling their top priority. The company also appears to be well organized at the top and should be considered a decent company to bet on for the future despite only being around for a few years (1).

However, there’s little reason someone who doesn’t absolutely love his or her coffee should join Javita. The company is young, not accredited, and its products have not been validated. Being successful with Javita also requires a serious investment in both time and money, so it may not be a great option for someone with just a casual interest in joining a direct marketing company. Javita may have a bright future ahead of it, but only committed coffee drinkers need apply.
